Tod Handbags: Treccia Gets A Wow

Been checking out the Treccia Handbag from Tod Handbags today over on eLuxury. I would love to think of something snarky to say about it, but I can't. It's really a stunning leather handbag. I particularly love the braided handles.

Be prepared to take out a second on your house to buy this leather purse at just shy of $1500, but hey, you deserve it. No one said beauty and elegance were cheap.

Marni Oversized Hobo Handbag - Favorite Handbag Of The Millenium

I see a lot of handbags as the writer of this brilliant blog. My eyes are always open for what the gals are carrying. So... when I choose a favorite handbag of the millenium, know it is no small feat. And I have chosen a favorite handbag of the millenium. And it shall remain so for another 993 years.

My favorite handbag? It's the Marni Oversized Hobo. It's essentially a mini-leather hefty bag. I guess you could argue it could serve as a diaper bag for a woman with quintuplets or a backpack for a high schooler with no locker or a ball bag for a youth soccer coach. Men Prefer Luxury Brands To Women? Huh?

Those crazy folks at the Luxury Institute are at it again with their study that says Luxury Brands are more important to men than women when buying a handbag. Not in my house. The man of the house would way rather buy from Target and use the extra few hundred to buy a bigger TV or, worse yet, savings! (gasp).

Seriously, I found the fact that women are willing to go down market, knowing how much my friends drop on luxury handbag brands like Gucci, Coach, and others makes me pretty surprised. On the other hand, most men have one or two bags, not a closet full, so perhaps I shouldn't be so shocked.

The Luxury Handbags We Carry

Admit it, no matter how good a cheap bag can look (and how good you can feel when it was a steal), you just can't beat the high from walking down the street with a $300+ bag slung over your shoulder. Maybe it's our chance to get a little taste of the starlet's life?

Today, the good people of the Luxury Institute issued a Market Analysis for the Luxury Handbag category (calling it a category kind of takes the fun out of it, doesn't it?). Their conclusion, we know Coach better for handbags than any other brand. Good for Coach, but there's a lot more to like a little further down the list:

Gucci, Luis Vuitton, Prada, Kate Spade -- how many of those bags are in your closet? I have to admit, I think Kate Spade first, but that's just me. But there's a lot of great stuff elsewhere out there. Anyhow, here's the list. Kind of fun to see where your favorite sits or doesn't in the luxury handbag "category"...
